#19 Tibetan Hand Painted Monastery Chest 17-18th Century
This chest is decorated with a green bordered central medallion of a front facing dragon, clasping Wish Fulfilling Gems. He is surrounded by a complex and wide floral border that has been painted on the bright cinnabar colored background. The four corners are decorated with wave designs and the border of the chest and its lid are painted with clouds. This an excellent example of Tibetan gesso work that adds depth and relief to the painted designs giving it a carved appearance. For shipping and handling please contact info@innerasiarugs.com
